Lower risk of erectile dysfunction

18%Lower erectile-dysfunction risk on the healthiest plant-based diets, ages 60–69

Among 21,942 men followed for years, the healthiest plant-based diets came with 18% lower erectile-dysfunction risk at ages 60–69[2], while unhealthy plant-based diets raised risk under 60[2]. Higher fruit intake and flavonoid-rich foods also tracked with less dysfunction[3]. A Chinese case-control study found the same direction, with higher plant-based scores tracking better erectile function and higher nitric oxide[5]. Diets heavy in vegetables, fruits, nuts, and legumes that avoid red and processed meat came with lower risk[4]. Blood flow is the common thread.
